The Medusa of P'tit-Sault...

birth of a legend - Multidiciplinary project and Exhibition (Literature and Visual Arts)

This project, creating a legend and associated intercreative game, is meant to stimulate popular imagination.  The project is also meant to encourage interactions between members of our community as well as to foster reflection on the role that oral tradition may play in present-day society.  Both the Madawaska river and regional folklore were sources of inspiration for this legend.

The Gallery Colline invites you to the launching and opening of the exhibit on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 7p.m., at the Madawaska Historical Museum in Edmundston.  The works will be on exhibit up to January 31, 2009.

Since ancient times, men and women have worn insects for the purpose of self-adornment, seduction, magic, ritual or for their supernatural powers.  With gorgeous detail and intricate symbolism, they have crept their way on our bodies and into our psyche as jewellery, textile, ceremonial objects and spiritual symbols.

Drawings ...

These drawings were created in 2006-2007, just to explore a subject.  At that time, I was working on a project where the theme was insects.  The models are my daughter, my son and husband.
