The Red Fairy ...

"The Red Fairy" went through different steps to get to where I had envisioned it.

First the modeling and bisque, then glazed and fired in an electric kiln, then smoked/burned in a pit fire a whole day in my backyard, and finally, I finished it off with mixed medias.

Rain or shine ...

Oh yes, grey days and walking in the rain on deserted beaches.  I find it very peaceful and propitious for creation - Land art, New Richmond, Quebec.

Migrating installations ...

The OVOS are on the move again.  This time, they are basking in the sun on a hot and humid afternoon in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec, Canada.

Story colours ...

How do you see colours?  Do you see blue, green, yellow or maybe something else?

In this image, I see pollen, moss, sea foam, agates, emeralds and more.  I see colours steeped with feelings and stories which often influence me when I decide on the title of a work - "Pollen Queen" or in spanish, "Reina de Polen", digital image.

Feelings of gratitude ...

There is no better way for me to take a break from studio work than to go for a walk in my garden or in nature.  Both are just a step away.  Feeling so grateful!

Morph ...

To change gradually into a different image in a way that seems magical.

It all started with a photo that I took of one of my ceramic bisque sculptures.  The chalky white surface of the bisque seemed like a blank canvas, waiting to be painted.  I love working with digital tools and mixing color pixels in my computer, so for this project, digital art was the way to go.

I used lots of photos I had taken over the years of surface textures and all kinds of objects.
At the moment, I have over 60 images that I have created with the same base image.  I still have lots of ideas.  I'll keep on going and see where it leads me.

Éloizes Prize ...

It was with a lot of heartfelt emotion that I received the Prix Éloizes as visual artist of the year in Dieppe this weekend.

A sincere thank you to the AAAPNB and the Éloizes team for your relentless work and your support towards artists.  Here's a photo taken on the red carpet with my husband Michel, who has always given me unconditional support and has been by my side through every moment of my life as an artist ... there is a part of you in this Éloize!!!

Blast of color ...

It feels so good to have fun with bright colors, especially at the end of winter, just before spring.  I'm thinking, color vitamins!

While playing with the same base image on my computer, I imagined particular colors inspired by fragments of phrases floating in my head like: bodacious greenwoman riding a bull moose, pompous red peonies prancing in a field of badass dandelions, pink flamingos breakdancing at Parlee Beach, cosmic bluebird flying over Andromeada ...

Having fun, having a blast!

Sculpture in my garden in winter ...

Sculptures and temperature ...

Silence, marked here and there by the sound of freezing rain, shrouded my garden yesterday.

Outdoor sculptures are transformed by the weather just like the landscape - "Moth", metal, recycled automobile parts and old farm machinery, wire, glass, marble and gold leaf.
