In the studio ...
I love rainy, snowy days. Silence is my guide and for the occasion, a little bit of "Dragon's Blood" incense floating in the air.
What could be better for inspiration!
Medusa ...
The "Medusa" is far from finished. The firing and glazing is yet to come and the assembly work, which will include metal, is going to be quite complex.
Crossing my fingers on this one.
In my garden ...
I love working with recycled material. The patina is already there, gorgeous and still evolving!
Sculptural window encassed in a gazebo in my garden.
Land Art ...
There are days where the atmosphere and the light is fantastic, days to get lost in daydreaming.
Cross pollination between mediums and practices ...
For quite some time, I've been using my air dried or bisque sculptures as elements for installations and also as models for my digital images.
Here is Rhino at the air dry stage used as a model for my Imaginarium Project. Since then, the piece has been bisque fired. Next step will be to glaze and assemble the sculpture.
Worldbuilding ...
Worldbuilding is the process of constructing an imaginary world.
For quite a few years, I have been working behind the scenes on creating the world of Imaginarium. Now, I am ready to start the process of revealing it to you.
Keep an EYE open ... glimpses of this fantastic world will be presented to you over the coming months and years! To begin, click here to see an introduction video and read about the creation myth of this world.
Exhibition opening ...
"Célébration - Ktonukot"
from April 5th to May 28, 2018
at the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent
Rivière-du-Loup, Québec
A place to work and grow ...
This fantastic studio is at the Edmundston Art Centre. It's where I do all my glazings and firings. Thank you!
Glaze explorations ...
Material ...
Knotted wood, shells, wasp nest paper, glass, rusted metal, red cabochon beads, found objects or other.
When certain material attracts you like a moth to a flme, enter the fire.
A new year begins ...
The year begins with snow falling softly, covering my sculpture studio in a white blanket. The mood is perfect for inspiration to flow.
