"Gold Veins", environmental art
Materials: rock, liquid and gold leaf, 18 and 24 karat
Edmundston, N.B. - 2012
Veins carry to the heart the vital essence of an organism.
Gold is a precious metal that has been coveted by numerous civilisations, still to this day. This material, depicted as veins, enabled me to give back in a tangible and symbolic way, life an value into the heart of nature.
As the seasons change, the light, the surrounding colors and atmosphere play constantly with the sculpture. You can find "Gold Veins" in the heart of nature, by walking through the woods in the Edmundston Mountain Bike Trails no. 16, a 10 minute trek from the parking lot on top of Nadeau Street.
